For clarification as to who the approved staff at your centre are, please contact your Area Manager. Please note this course is also free to Certificate lll students enrolled at NIECE and funded under the MBA (Employer Funded).

The Provide Basic Emergency Life Support course involves a small eLearning component which must be completed prior to attending the training session. The face-to-face training runs for approximately 2hrs during your staff meetings and consists of skills stations in CPR, choking, EpiPen administration, Ventolin (via a spacer) administration and the management of febrile convulsions. There is a small multiple choice assessment to be completed.
Senior First Aid involves a larger amount of eLearning (completed prior to the training session). The face-to-face training runs for 8 hours on a Saturday. It consists of skills stations in CPR, choking, EpiPen administration, Ventolin (via a spacer), Fractures, Bleeding Control, Burns, Bites & Stings and AED familiarisation.
We will be scheduling training by areas up to 12 months in advance. This training schedule will allow those who cannot attend the allocated course to attend another course in a nearby centre. Following the initial scheduling we will do a five year calendar for each centre.
This is a fun and interactive way of doing your pre-course learning. It is conducted online and each staff member will be provided a link to our online learning site with a unique user identification and password. The beauty of eLearning is that you can answer questions at the click of a button instead of having to complete a written workbook. The learning is broken up into small sections to allow staff to come and complete a learning module in 5-10 minutes and then go back to doing their work.
The eLearning component for Provide Basic Emergency Life Support takes anywhere from 45 mins to 1.5 hrs and around 1.5 to 3 hrs for Senior First Aid.
